In this video I discuss how I used a scrapbook of magazine clippings to discover a signature image style that felt right for me.

Finding an image ‘look’ that best expresses you as a person is essential. Unfortunately when you enter the wedding photography business, no one tells you that you don’t need to learn every style and processing technique out there.

Making a scrapbook helped rescue me from the sea of different digital photo ‘looks’ all of us have to choose from. And it takes very little time.

    Hey Ken!
I was just going over this post again and realized that what you were saying. I find this concept to be very valuable for me. I have a folder that I’ve saved hundreds of wedding images and put them into folders like brides and grooms , brides on beds ect. I find that each time I review I’m discovering hidden details about the images that I liked but didn’t know the significance of those details that made the difference. For instance I didn’t know what a fan I was of depth of field until I started to compare what I had seen in books to what I was doing in the field. I think a lot of photographers will appreciate that tip. It really works. Maybe not overnight but with some strong self analysis I think you will begin to see some results.
    Thanks for sharing!
